It was so weird, I was a real electro-head as a kid, when I was 13-14 I used to get anything with a really 'phat' beat, from Chemical Brothers to Mr.Oizo dub beats.
Really odd for a kid, eh?
Anyway, I soon followed the trend (although it would have been cool to stick to the electric stuff) and became a hardcore punk. Maybe it was for the best, as otherwise maybe I never would have liked rock, which I do now immensely. I used to listen too all the obvious choises; New Bomb Turks, NOFX, Rancid, Voodoo Glow Skulls et al.
Then I got into that new fangled metal; but this was between the ages 16-17; Incubus, Korn, Alien Ant Farm (but i still like the first album!), System of a Down.
Suddenly, at 17 and a half, I got all grown up. And yes, it was the influence of a girl

She was into music from the 60s (Pink Floyd, Jeffereson Airplane, Dylon), but also into modern folk music. That really messed up my perspective, and I thought to myself, that's it i'm going to buy an album from every genre. I did, And I realised there's no point descriminating anymore, as all these albums provide stuff I like. So that's it. The next 2 and a half years I spend wasting my money buying too many albums, but I have a CD/MP3 collection others at my age are envious of....
