Just a question:
Why's everyone saying "so and so should be here on the list, they shouldn't be on that list la la la"

Isn't it your personal list?

so how about you pull your thumb out of your ass and post your own list... and what's with everyone name dropping michael angelo batio lately like he's some super obscure guitar god... EVERY guitar magazine i bought when i started playing had at least 1 full page ad with him and his freak multi-neck guitars... i posted my list of modern 'ROCK' guitarists i chose to ignore lots of other styles... no traditional blues / acoustic / classical / flamenco / shredders just regular rock without trying to sound like a generic rolling stone list...

I don't see anything too bad on your list except James Hetfield. He's the rythm guitarist. Did you mean Kirk Hammet?

So what is everybody voting on: Technical prowess, style, inovation or just personal favourites because they like the music each guitarist makes???

For example I would include Neil Young if I was baseing my decission on style and my personal love of the sound and feeling he gets out of his guitar. However based on his technical ability I don't think I would include him.

doesn't really seem too obscure to me... more like most rock fans don't give 2 craps about ridiculously masturbatory guitar playing...
