Landberk's Riktigt Akta. Of course it is out of print but you should be able to find it off p2p if you try hard enough. It is possibly the best prog. rock album ever.

Magical Mystery Tour is essential... While not fully psychedelic, the songs on it that are psychedelic, are wonderful... A sampler of the Nuggets series is also a good starting point for psychedelia as well as Hendrix first album...

Clay Man's first list has some very good stuff, but a lot of it I wouldn't suggest to anyone just starting to get into either genre as some of those on his list are for, let's say, more advanced tastes in the forms...

Also, any of the British Psychedelic Trip series are good starting points for psychedelia... For a good taste of San Francisco psychedelia, I would suggest "Surrealistic Pillow" by the Jefferson Airplane...

All right, here, I'll give.

If you're absolutely new to this type of music, try some of these as "entry-level", some old, some new:

Progressive:

1. Yes - Fragile
2. Genesis - Foxtrot
3. Jethro Tull - Benefit
4. Marillian - Script For A Jester's Tear
5. King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King

Psychedelic:

1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
2. Beatles - Revolver
3. Doors - The Doors
4. Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced
5. Apples In Stereo - Fun Trick Noisemaker
