When I was five-six years old my brother impressed me with "The number of the beast" by Iron Maiden..... Next discoveries where Judas Priest, Venom and Mötorhead.
I'm grateful for that.

Earlire in this thread I said my first metal cd was Calculating Infinity, when I actually had Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka by Nile before it. I know it Doesn't matter, I'm just looking to get my post count up before I go on vacation.

the first half of my life I didn't like music whatsoever. When I was nine, the rap explosion hit the town I lived in, and I got heavy into rap, when I was eleven, I was converted to christianity because I was living a difficult life and I expected the religion to make everything all better. up until I was fourteen I listened to contemporary christian music. when I was fourteen my faith left me, and I sunk back into rap, at age fifteen I discovered Linkin Park, which got me to like the rock aspect. Then I watched the an Anime Music Video for the song "A Flat" by Staind. Which got me absolutely hooked on rock. I can remember watching that video and actually thinking to myself "fuck rap, I want more of this" for the next two years I listened to mostly nu-metal, with some Black Sabbath, Ozzy post Sabbath, and Metallica occasionally. Then last year when I was seventeen I met two people on another forum, both of them are here (Cold Blue Steel, and AzraelAlexander). They introduced me to real metal. As such, I have all but abandoned Nu-metal, for bands like Pantera, Slayer, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Emperor, Old Man's Child, The Berzerker, Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, and most recently Fuck...I'm dead.
My first Metal CD...*thinks*
Probably Tool- Lateralus
