You people are weird. The Cure, Slint or Arab Strap GIVE YOU POWER WHEN YOU'RE DOWN?!
When I'm down, I listen to Mr Quintron and his Miss Pussycat and shake some bootay. Yes.

I agree, I like listening to absurd (in a postive way) music when I'm feeling down as well.

Here is a picture of the elusive Mr. Quintron

Did you know Mr. Quintron and Miss Pussycat got married without ever knowing either's real name .

I'm a big fan of the Hammond Organ.

Anyhow, here are a couple of albums that I enjoy to cheer me up.

Following the rather 'unqiue trend of Mr. Quintron, is Giles Giles Fripp's 'The Cheerful Insanity of Giles Giles & Fripp'

Just look at the cover of the album, it just has to cheer you up!

when i was younger and still in my teens i used to listen to a lot of soundgarden when i was feeling down and out... playing my guitar along to badmotorfinger always brightened my mood...

now that i'm older i find myself listening to more melancholy music when i'm feeling glum... stuff like mazzy star... cat power... portishead

but if there's a little anger with my down then i dig out the faith no more / mr. bungle stuff hehe hearing the gentle art of making enemies or merry go bye bye always make me a little happier on the inside

Lately I find myself listening to Porcupine Tree and Rush when I'm down. I don't know why it helps, maybe just the fact I can sort of...forget everything else.

Geoff, that's hilarious. I love Mr Quintron, and that picture of him behind the palm is just adorable. Haha! Haha!

When im depressed i go for really depressing stuff as well, i listen to Mogwai when im down sometimes. Anything but the most miserable music sounds really corny when im down.

'You've Got a Friend' or 'Fire and Rain' by James Taylor always does the trick.
