It seems I'm a little late this this thread, but anyways...
I had heard that Donovan had tought they "claw hammer" style picking, but for the life of me, I don't know what that is, and wasn't able to find much useful info on it with google. Could you tell me a few songs where the style is noticable?

"Blackbird" and "Mother Nature's Son" by Paul... "Julia" by Lennon..there may be others.  I'm not certain, but my guess is we're talking 3-finger picking--nothing more.
