im a huge psychedelic rock fan, and i wanted to buy this video called 60's psychedelic guitar. So i can learn to play psychedelic rock. But i cant find plus my dad doesnt trust the internet. so anyone knows where i can download it? also, how do u play psychedelic rock, wat techniques do u use?

this might be better in the stringed instrument section but i'm sure there are more than enough tutorials and lessons online to get you started in playing that style of rock... it's not really that difficult...

most of the rhythm parts are pretty basic and the lead stuff is usually blues based... the 'trick' to playing psychedelic music is in the tones... at the very least you'll want a phaser or flanger for the swooshy rhythm tone... and an echo or delay pedal for the lead (if you've got the cash)

thanks for the info. i have a phaser and delay and wah pedal. i havent heard flanger ever being used in psychedelic rock. and i cant find those tutorials about how to play psychedelic rock. does aîyone know where i can find one?

phaser and flanger are pretty similar sounds... flange seems to have a little more 'noise'...

what is it specifically that you're looking to learn? any songs or specific techniques?

this page has some good general lessons... you'd be able to apply what they talk about in the blues based lead and hendrix style lessons to playing psychedelic rock...

What about a "fuzz box" (or the digital age equivalent, whatever that is)? That heavy distortion sound is pretty crucial for psychedelic guitar.

i would love to buy a fuzz pedal but my mom wont drive me to go buy one. so i dropped the idea for good.

most amps have a distorted channel which will give you a fair amount of fuzz... i NEVER used a distortion or fuzz box when i played through my marshall... i just switched over to the dirty channel...

i think some effects are overrated in psychedelic. all u need is skill and some crucial effects. Reverb, Delay, Echo, Wah, and thats it, fuzz just adds a distorted sound. nothin special. imo
