Gentle,maybe..but good manners were considered bourgeoise..and this was the beginning of selfisness as a virtue type thinking (existentialism, y'know). And dressing poor was de riguer! We spent as much time perfecting the right "look" as the fraternity boys did on theirs.

I came real close to voting for George. He definitely had the "hippie mystic" attitude going on. He always looked like he was half in the unseen world. And when you get down to it, he was really the most genuine "flower child" in the band from '67 on...and he never abandoned it, right up to the day he died. I really respect him for that.
