Hey Joan, I'm on your side. I feel the same way. You just put it into words so much better.

For sure...and I have heard pretty much all their tunes. "Sloop John B", "God Only Knows", "Don't Worry Baby", there's nothing there, even in the supposedly critically acclaimed ones. And after repeated listenings, it is overly nauseating. Brian Wilson's vocals don't change, its the same voice with an almost whine on every song. Awful...of course The Beatles win.

Just heard: Brian Wilson is performing "SMiLE" two nights in October at Carnegie Hall. Unbelievable.

What is interesting here is that Smile is getting crushed in this poll and yet 90% of the posts are about Smile... The legend and intrigue make it a popular topic I guess...

Yeah...I think it's the fact that it never got released. It's a tribute to Wilson's restored self(or his wife Melinda) that he's willing to blow the mystique of the thing and JUST DO IT! Naturally, it can never live up to the hype.

Sgt. Pepper's, without a doubt. Pet Sounds, is one of the all-time greatest pop classics, too, though!
