I think you should give "Surf's Up" a chance sometime, MD. It's one of the 4 or 5 greatest songs of the 20th century. There's nothing else like it in the universe.

Very true...and I reccomend the unadorned version with just Brian and the piano that is on disc two of the "Good Vibrations" boxed set(track #28).It is his "swan song" before the wave pulled him under..and you have to listen to it at least ten times before your brain hits the right gear!

I agree with the others. You have to give them a chance. They have too many great songs to shun them completely. The Beach Boys are one of the best American Bands of all-time imo.
