The title cut to Philip Glass's 'North Star' is a beautifully haunting, concise piece of music.

Kronos Quartet's 'Pieces of Africa' CD has some wonderful moments of African composition and syncopation blended into the Quartet's 1st world esthetic.

Micheal Nyman's 'Sangam' CD pulls off another blending of cultures (this time India) with his modern compositional outlook. Ravishing.
