Call me inept, but I wanted to check out BitTorrent and couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I read the FAQ's and all that and still am lost. Maybe it's for the best anyway.

yeah, i had a really hard time figuring out how to get it running, but its worth the struggle. i already mentioned indietorrents, but another good site for music is www.oink.me.uk

BitTorrent pretty much died yesterday, Suprnova and many other great bittorrent sites are gone for good.

i'm honestly surprised that it lasted this long. i never thought it would make it through the summer, and depending on your ISP supernova had been blocked for a few months now (last time i used it was like august... maybe early september)

but lokitorrent.com is still up. they're trying to raise $30k for a legal defense fund, surprisingly enough they've almost got a grand after 1 day. what i'm REALLY curious about are legitimate reasons why anyone thinks they deserve any of this free stuff.

honestly, it's not that much of a surprise. Soulseek, through a 5 dollar donation, gives you priority on music downloads. If you just have 1000 users participate, that's 5000 dollars...

...and that's a low figure, so I can only imagine how much money these file sharing networks are actually bringing in.
