Reunions?

What do you think of reuniting bands?
I saw the Pixies last weekend, as I told before and they were really good, even though it's quite obvious that their only reason to do this tour was money...
Post Punk bands Wire and Mission of Burma have reunited in the last few years and released both critically acclaimed albums (I haven't heard those albums yet)
Then there are bands who have lost one or more members and have replaced them by new recruits... The Doors for example, they play now with the singer from The Cult, I think... Or Queen, who do something similar... I'm not really in favour of these kind of reunions, seeing the Doors without Morrison doesn't seem that interesting to me...
What are your opinions, folks?

Let's hope he's not!
and Morrison didn't really jerk off only pretended to or they said he pretended he did...

damn, i wish i lived in the seventies!

i saw pixies too, and they were still rockin'! they did play every song right after the other, but people say they used to do that back "in the days" too. i saw kim smiling, and the others too, so i don't think they see their shows as routine, they were really surprised.
just one remark: they really are ugly now... kim is pretty chubby (too) now and all the men are bold. yuch. (but they rock!)

yeah I saw them too @ werchter, they were great indeed... I could sing along with most of the songs, which was fun, I was in the middle of a moshpit for a while, but got out of it, which seemed better seen the fact that I wear glasses... and yes they are ugly, Frank Black is really fat... and I heard that Kim Deal made the hearts of boys pound faster back in the days, but I don't think she does anymore but that doesn't matter if they're still able to put on such a show... and yes they did seem to enjoy themselves, but the fact that they've just released a new best of when they already had Death to the Pixies makes me think that money is one of the most important factors... and they probably realise that none of their other projects were ever as good as the Pixies... the Breeders have made some good albums, but the Frank Black solo albums were rather boring, certainly those of the latest years...

I don't mind bands reforming to do some live shows, in is actually really good if they tour Australia and I get to see them live. What I don't like is when they reform, make an album and that album is of poor quality compared to the other stuff that the band has done eg "Janes Addiction" their last album wasn't bad but it does not compare to their other stuff. If the pixies made a new album I would suspect the same thing would happen.

Probably... Most bands make their best albums when they're young and broke anyway...
