Sarah McLachlan
So what do you people think of Sarah McLachlan? I really like her music. She also has a great talent for writing songs.
Your opinions??

I heard a few songs, the hits I suppose, which were okay, but she's not really my thing...

I basically like her but I got burnt out on her really quickly cause she's really overplayed on radio...at least she was a few years ago. Haven't heard her at all lately since I've banned all top 40 airplay from my vehicles and in my home.

How is Sarah McLachlan alternative? Should this not be in the pop section?

yeah... i thought she was more pop, sorry... what had me confused though...
see, i started to write the first post in the thread, then i thought to change it to the pop section, but then at the top of the screen it said pop > alternative.
it had me confused, and i kept it in here. sorry folks, move it if you will.

I think a lot of "alternative" fans are into Sarah. She's a little more serious than most of the pop out there. I mean, she has a lot more in common with, say, Tori Amos or Sheryl Crow than with any of those stupid video divas that can't keep their clothes on.
Anyway, I agree she is a fine songwriter and an artist to be reckoned with. I enjoy her work very much.

her songs are definitely overplayed, at least her newer songs. I only like her older album called Fumbling Toward Ecstasy.

Fumbling Toward Ecstasy an "older album"? It was only a couple of albums back...of course, now that I'm older myself, an album from 8 years or so back is still quite "current", relatively speaking...

I think it came out more than 8 year ago... let see, it came out in 1994, so it was 10 long years ago
