Good breakup songs

Hello folks. First post here and I just want to hi. Im looking for some good breakup songs. My girlfriend just broke up with me after three years and Im in need of some good music to help me get by. Any genre is fine but Im partial to emo. Emo/Rock/alternative is one thing that we had in common. Im looking for anything to mend a broken heart. thanks

They do, and in the punk section, what is with that??!!??

I think that is testament to the fact that kids today think punk rock is about breaking up, girlfriends and bloody flowers in the meadows. It is a sad state of affairs.

here is another one

Yeah, my idea of punk is as far from breakup songs as death metal is to psychadelic pop. Its all this emo-punk thing. The music is not really 'emo' at all if you ask me. Just mushy lyrics.

I really didnt mean to post it in the punk section but it was the closest thing to the type of music that I listen to. As I said before I was open to any suggestions not matter what type of music it is. Music can be emo when it appeals to the emotions. Emo is just a branding but anything from rock to country can be considered emo if it appeals to you that way.

"Bigmouth strikes again" - not emo, but great lyrics :

"Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
When I said I'd like to smash every tooth
In your head

Oh sweetness, sweetness, I was only joking
When I said by rights you should be
Bludgeoned in your bed.."

Or any Elvis Costello song, really. He is just the king of bitter, vengeful, quietly seething, very very angry songs.

SHOTDOWN from THE SONICS will give you energy back again. no cheesy emo lyrics. no boring guitars. just pure energy and coolness ...

Shot Down (J. Roslie)

Hey Little girl,
What’s the matter with you?
Don’t you like
the things I do?
You’re wearing a frown.
I’ve been shot down.

Hey little girl,
I play a guitar.
I even drive
a brand new car.
Big man in town,
I’ve been shot down.

(Bridge)

WAAAHHHH
I thought we was having fun,
now see what you’ve done.
Can’t show my face in town
cause I’ve been shot down.

Solo

Hey little girl,
I need you so.
If you want my love,
just let me know.
Stop running around,
I’ve been shot down! x2
