is it me or synth music is becomming obvious and predictable?
i am listening to bob dylan and joy division this days, for me idm/ambient is losing its ability to surprise and innovate.
i have tried new stuff but it all sounds like the same...
maybe iam just fed up or maybe there is nothing really cool this days.

there is a trend going on. i agree that idm is kind of at a standstill. but there are still a few around to keep playing such as: Devine, Clark, Otto and o9. they remain to be evolutionary in my opinion.
of course we have plenty of releases to listen to nontheless! there is so much out there from the past that will continue to inspire and innovate our minds.

a little bit of "predictable" is what helps create tension and release. that feeling of "holy shit i have never heard anything like this--ever" truely is an amazing one. i know your pain.

this is a good point prof. this is a moment where we can appreciate innovation when it happens.

No worse than what rock music has come to, infact, a considerable bit better.

just wait 5 years buddy. then you'll see some real bullshit being put out. idm could end up worse than rock... because idm artists think they are so 'intellectual' and 'unique'. tossers. (tom j especially)
