There are two main types of producers in all genre's of music. The first copies other peoples work or samples there sounds etc. The others are innovaters who push the boundries of the music (sometimes to the extreme - often creating new genre's in their wake). Everybody esle is somewhere in between.

I don't really listen to much electronic music anymore - I kind of lost interest in about 1993 when people started wearing boiler suits at raves and the produces at the time decided to have a competition to se who could crank the BPM up the highest. I still listen to some classic tracks occasionally and there are loads of tracks from the late 80's early 90's that I would love to hear again (and probably a lot of tracks since then that I would love if i'd heard them). A friend of mine has played the latest LFO CD for me and I particually like the first track (and I've listen to tracks posted on forums - which on the most part have been really good) but I haven't heard anything by the like's of Autechre (unless its been on the tele and I haven't realised).

I guess I endevour to be a trialblazer but I don't listen to other stuff so I would know if I was or not. Anyway guess what I started off trying to say (if your still awake - sorry) is that there will always somebody pushing the boundries and a bunch of sheep following behind.

hope? These guys have been around for years, especially deupree...what more could they do? Bretschneider's stuff as Komet is ingenius. I'd pick Carston Nicolai as well.

my hope is in Vendor Refill, Fzv and Devine. i will hope they can preserve true architecture in music.

let's not forget Chris Clark, Proem, Ra, Erast and more who seem to continue innovating. let's just see where they can take us.
