I have never owned any of their albums but keep meaning to buy some eventually

I do love the songs Once in a Lifetime, Wild,Wild,Life, and Burning Down the House though. Ive heard other stuff but dont remember what the songs were.

I've really been wanting to get into the Talking Heads, but I do not know where to start...:confused

Another great choice for Talking Head starters is to buy "Sand in the Vaseline". It's a double cd with all their greatest hits (really songs-they had very few hits).

I don't know, I was thinking of just buying Remain in Light.

I agree with DPRUSKY that Fear of Music should be the next. They are the most similar.

Remain in Light is my favorite for two reasons. Brian Eno's construction of the grooves is amazing. Certainly the playing is top notch, but the production just takes it to the next level.

The second is Adrian Belew's guitar playing. Listen to the musical breaks in the first three songs - four breaks altogether. ABSOLUTELY UNREAL! It is amazing to me that a single guitar player is making those sounds (however I suspect in some of the cases echoes and fades are being carefully constructed afterwards by Eno - but the sounds themselves are amazing). Makes a completely new vocabulary for guitar, much in the same vein as Hendrix and Van Halen. I don't think Belew gets nearly the props he deserve - probably partly due to his puppy dog, unassuming manner.

I think Byrne's "Songs From the Catherine Wheel" is a must also!
Again, Adrian Belew's 'steel drum guitar' is just amazing.

This sucks, I went to buy Remain in Light last night at Sam Goody, and they didn't have it.
