Biggie vs. Tupac

It was argued in the "Best Rappers/Albums" thread some time ago and I really think this needs its own thread. This subject is old, but still good to discuss about it. My choice goes on Biggie. I like 2pac's lyrics, but he's not as good as Biggie when it comes to rapping.

Although Biggie had a few hit singles, most of his rap is tiresome and a effort to listen to, Pac's is far more varied and technically more interesting. Oh, n pac is from the hood, not a middle class white hood.

I prefer Tupac over Biggie. And as a producer who would pick Puff Daddy/PDiddy or whatever name he calls himself today over Dr. Dre? The music is a lot better and fits Tupac's raps better than on Biggie's recordings. But that's just one man's opinion.

This debate is useless in my opinion. The only thing that 2pac and biggie have in common is that they were both killed. BIG DEAL. Anyone can get killed.

But I think its important to note that 2pac was a hard street nigga... and he DANCED BALLET. Thugs just dont know about the pierouette... loser

The debate started before their death, and it is those fights that lead them to their death.

I would choose pac over biggie.............even though biggie is a great story teller i get tired of some of his tracks pretty fast......i always thought pac has a special talent to bring out his message in his lyrics over some bumping beats.....

but anyway i barely listen to these 2 guys anymore. that was 4-5 years ago when i had different interests in rap.

This topic has been a very controvertial one for many years now in the hip- hop community. I believe that they are both decent MC's. However, i also think that their profiles have increased in depth because of their death. But to actually answer the question, Tupac was the better lyricist while B.I.G had a better flow.
