is this a joke? hair metal had talent, and was fun. nu metal has no talent, as is not fun. and the lyrics are just as bad or worse than hair metal. and their image is just as important as hair metals.

Hair metal sounds a lot more poppy then Nu Metal. Nu Metal can actually throw in elements of "real" metal, while hair metal sounds the same with simple riffs and whimpy lyrics. (Nu Metal doesn't have the most technical riffs but they hit closer to home). I wasn't around for much of the 80's but I do know that those "metalheads" were basically just hardcore popstars.

Hair metal was more about the glamour of being a big rock star than the music.
With their makeup, big hair, poseing, sleze and their fake bad boy image the music took the backseat.

I can't stand Hair Metal. real metal bands shouldn't wear more makeup than their mothers. it just not right. O yeah and the music sucked ass too. Nu metal is great.
