Exclamation New Jazz Releases (post them here)

I just thought we should have a thread devoted to upcoming Jazz releases so everyone can see what new music is out there.

I just noticed this from Atavistic:

Peter Brötzmann Clarinet Project: Berlin DJungle (23 days until release, as of this post)
Peter Brötzmann: Medicina (79 days until release, as of this post)

Feel free to add your own whenever you happen upon something new and noteworthy.

Posting them would be one way of doing it. Another would be for everyone to just check either of these sites to keep updated. That's what I do.

P.S.

I have been looking forward to that Peter Brötzmann Clarinet project. It's an interesting collection of musicians. John Zorn and Brötzmann together for the first and only time. It's also a rare performance of Zorn on the Clarinet.

Further, FMP has either already reissued or is in the process of reissuing Brötzmann's 14 Love Poems. A solo recording from 1984

You're welcome!

It takes real talent to be helpful and a superior prick at the same time. All without even trying.

But you know that already, with all the threads you've killed,

Instead of starting a new thread.....

Blue Note's future releases.

Feb. 7, 2006

Lee Morgan - The Gigolo
Andrew Hill - Smokestack
Dexter Gordon - Gettin' Around
Hank Mobley - Workout
Horace Silver - Horace-scope
Stanley Turrentine - Joyride

Feb. 21, 2006
Hank Mobley - Dippin'
Dexter Gordon - A Swingin' Affair
Art Blakey - Mosaic
Lee Morgan - Tom Cat
Horace Silver - Silver's Serenade
Jimmy Smith - Softly As A Summer Breeze

I have all those on lp and cd, and they're two excellent batches this time around.

Also out on Feb. 21.

Andrew Hill - Time Lines

This is a new recording by Andrew Hill on Blue Note. I am pretty sure, it's the third time around for Hill on Blue Note.

I have heard rumors that Hill has Cancer. If true, I would check him out live while you can.

Hopefully, the information is wrong!

The Feb. 7th batch of Blue Notes are up for pre-order on cduniverse. You can skip Joyride, unless you're a diehard fan of Turrentine.

I would suggest the order above, for those limited on the finances. The Gigolo is Morgan's best.

Let the Countdown begin, again!

Miles Davis - Juan Le Pins Sessions

This was originally recorded, on July 25, 1969 with Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, and Jack DeJohnette. It will have a 2nd cd of previously unissued material, and Corea is playing the electric piano.

It's now supposed to be released in 2006.

Any opening guess from the Grasshoppas on just when it actually is released? When making your guess, please remember it was originally discussed back in 2000. The release date back than was 2002.
