as much as i like the 'ball of energy' sound of early hardcore, i also have to accept that hardcore is a very limited style of music that doesn't really go anywhere after a point. still, it is a very liberating style which seems easy to play on the surface and brings alot of people into music who would otherwise think 'no way, i could never be a musician.' complete abandonment of the artsy-slant in punk, like a lean, muscular inevitable climax to what iggy did previously. Cool, but to a point.

so, by your theory, stating an opinion is lame and anything but a blank t shirt is lame.

i mean if i wore a nike shirt, it's like me running around showing off my ahtleticism. or if i had a shirt displaying my favorite football team, then that's lame because i am showing everybody that not only do i like football, i have a favorite team! *gasp*

what's really lame, in reality, is the point you are trying to make

There is a huge difference between me(or anyone else) wearing a shirt that says "I see dead people" or "Avril Lavigne isn't punk" and me wearing an IWW shirt. The difference is that a stupid hot topic t-shirt with some stupid phrase that supposedly shows how nonconformist a person is makes that person just as stupid as the shirt they are wearing.

I haven't heard much of them but I thought they were an emo band. I tend to not bother with much of the modern emo/screamo/hardcore stuff.

Yeah, Thurdsay, Thrice, Blood Brothers(?), Coheed & Cambria, The Mars Volta etc are bands that are pretty popular with the hardcore crowd.
