T-shirts with messages are so lame. Even ones that say 'fred durst sucks' especially since it proves that you listen to fred durst.

i don't think having something like "fuck fred durst" on the back of your shirt automatically means the person who is wearing said shirt is a limp bizkit fan. by all means, i am NO LB fan, but i have heard some of their songs and i hated them all. i also think fred durst is a tool - so the shirt is quite fitting.

oh well, i sold it on eBay months ago for around $50.00.

As far as who looks coolest in the pit thing goes I think that only is the part of sXe kids. I agree with you mostly when you say that hardcore sucks, there is still some good hardcore out there and a few of the older acts that aren't around anymore were good. The biggest problem with hardcore is how much of a stupid little 'members only' club the kids are (this goes for both sXe and non sXe kids). I understand that the other sub-genres of punk are also elitists but I have never seen such a 'no one else allowed' attitude that i find with hardcore, along with a 'prove how hardcore you are' attitude for new kids getting into the scene and kids who have moved here. Pretty much the music is good, it's just the scene that sucks.

this statement is definilty wrong.
hardcore was the following movement after punk. the main diffrence is, that it has a positive message. i hope you do not consider "sick of it all" and similar bands as hardcore bands? now many hardcore bands say, that they are also punk bands. the kids just where sick of the negative one way direction of punkrock ... something new had to come.

sure, they have also some musical changes, but this just the wheel of progress. you can not also compare a punk band from 1977 with one from 1997.

ya...exactly really. there is a lot of degenerate hardcore and militant sXe hardcore and various types of not positive hardcore.

That is not the point I was trying to make. See if you are putting a message on your t-shirt then its just like you are running around repeating it to everyone you see. And that is lame.

You are right concerning the new school hardcore, i think.
But you wouldn't say that old school hardcore is more metal than punk, would you?

Me, i like it, especially the old straight edge and political group like born against and good riddance
