wow dark, if you make some words rhyme in that you have some good emo lyrics O.o
as for trying to get back to where this thread started, id have to say that you would have a good chance of finding a "love song" if you searched the cure. someone said "unorthadox song structure" somewhere in here, and i instantly thought "the cure". their new single "end of the world" is exactly what my relationship has become with my girlfriend. a few months ago their song "love song" (clever title *rolls eyes*) described my relationship to the last dotted i. they have all kinds of stuff about "love" and everything before and after, as well as some differant songs like "lullaby" which is pretty much about a giant spider eating robert.
if you think the cure is gay and stupid, then you might find something pretty cool from the 80's, but seeing as this is a "punk" section, id have to suggest hitting all over the place.. even cool bands have "love" songs like uhh... actually, look at the ramones, i know theres a few songs from them that are pretty bf/gf like. "i want you around" is pretty straight forward. maybe just download albums from the net... punk love songs that arent emo dont usually get too popular (in my opinion). "exhumanation of virginia madison" from strung out is a half love song... but at the same time strung out is half pop-punk on top of punk.
whatever, its a fine line between punk and emo with some bands, im just happy that i like both genre's and i wont be uncomfortable when i find out a band i thought was punk turns out to be emo to a lot of people.

Samoan Joe's Barman: You want a pint, you go to the pub.
Bacon: I thought this was a pub!
Samoan Joes Barman: It's a Samoan pub.

Yeah, I'm not a big emo fan either. Emo is just punk for pussies. I also dont like punk music, so that shows what I think about emo.

Its just really lame. Who wants to hear a grown man singing a horribly written song and crying about his lame relationship?

No seriously... I have no idea of what emo is exactly supposed to be.
Everyone says "it's supposed to be emotional" but to me most music is emotional.

true almost all music is emotional. "emo" actaully stands for emotional hardcore, not just emotional
