i'm sure you do totally love your music. I think thats what makes it worth it. If you really love your music then it doesnt matter, its all about the music.

I like mae, they have some pretty good love songs

huhh. lots of temperament in your posting. the word first appeared in the context with hardcore in the early 90s. so the expression emocore is the original one. and than it become hip to use it for every band just using the word emo. i bet you never listened or even heard of bands like shotmaker, frail, heroin, iconoclast, age, abyss, honeywell, anasaraca, antioch arrow, julia, downcast ... just to name some few. i could continue for hours. tanjello explained it in the right way, so don´t blame your lack of knowledge in punk/rock history on me.

i think everyone who thinks that bands like Dashboard Confessional (though they are a pretty good band) etc. would be considered "emo" is retarded. Emo was started in the mid-80's with bands like Rites of Spring and Jawbreaker (although there are many more) who were assiociated much more with the hardcore scene. Infact anyone listening to "screemo" today is basically listening to what emo was like back then.
