Hm. I think that belongs into the Emo vs Glam thread.

Note: She didn't say anything about Emo musically.

Tight jeans and rock t-shirts. OMG, I've never seen anything like that before!

From what I've seen their jeans are loose fit by Glam standards.

You could use almost everyone of those to describe a few genres of music.

I am not clear about the lot of make-out being only for girls? Are you saying guys don't like it and/or not into it?

They have happy attitudes? Since when? Isn't the supposed stereotypess of them and their fans, is that they're overly sensitive, introverted, depressed, cutters, etc....

P.S. Is the double s supposed to be mean something these days?

I actually used wikipedia for this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo

Don't agree with most of what it says, but since when is wiki accurate anyway.

Also this site is useful http://www.fourfa.com/

Is this the Iron Maiden / Emo thread or is that one of the two other Emo threads?

Apparently the main influences of all this emo bands are Fugazi, Hüsker Dü and Mission of Burma. How is that possible?

Well what was originally called "Emo" came out of the same scene as Fugazi, I think some of Ian McKaye's lesser known bands are known as part of that first Emo wave. I'm not sure about this whole thing, but as I understand it, the original ("true"?) Emo is generally well-respected music, it's like a basic variation on hardcore. Rites of Spring is the only band name I ever remember, but that's an example.
