Regarding * Yes - Relayer * and my intro.

Probably one of my favorite progressive albums of all time. Everytime I listen to it I nearly crash my car.

It's so brilliant it's chilling to listen to.

I'm mostly an electronic music kind of guy, IDM and whatnot... but my other passion is psychedelic and progressive rock, some of the greatest music ever made.

my favorite prog/psych artists:

Yes (everything during the 70's was tits. everything in the 80's was godawful. sorry.)
Emerson, Lake and Palmer (TARKUS ANYONE?)
Mahavishnu Orchestra
King Crimson
Magma
amon Duul
budgie
weather report
pink floyd (before syd barret cracked.)
Circle
tarantula hawk
the flaming lips (pretty psychedelic if you ask me.. not classic but oh well)
c. a. quintet
code III
agitation free
frank zappa
the byrds
hendrix
jeff beck
LIGHTS & SIRENS
iron butterfly
HAWKWIND!!!!!111

etc..

I love a lot of that stuff. I'm also into stoner metal.

So what do you all think of Relayer? I know it doesn't have the normal keys player but it's still excellent, especially for a non-studio recording.

Also, could you please direct me to similar bands in the genre like the ones I have posted above?

I don't dig neo-prog too much... it sounds too much like furniture store muzak.
