Stive Bators

After years of searching, I finally got my hands on Stiv Bator's first solo album, which kicks ass. its a powerpop masterpiece; half the songs are covers of 60's garage, and half are songs that are as good if not better than what the electric prunes and the seeds were doing ten, fifteen years prior.

anyhow, some people think hes the american johnny rotten, others think hes the most original musical figure since dylan, yet others think the scope of his musical inpact surpasses both or at least is completely different.

ah ever heard of this band called THE DEAD BOYS!?! yeah, well stiv bators fronted that lil thing back when, and after his solo bit as a powerpop balladeer did some newwave shit or something, never got very far i understand.

regardless of that, youll have trouble finding the album, but worth every penny if you do. its called 'disconnected' and not sure if its been reissued or anything, i had to find a french imported copy.

i personally bought it at sounds or new sounds or something in st. marks place NYC. if you check out the original label the album was released on, maybe they sell burned reproduction so it, like twintone does. like i said, tricky to find.
