the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are

1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn

in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.

I think Norway is pretty cool, but as for who is most influential, I'd have to say UK. In recent years at least.

- what influence has Sth. Korea had?

Anyway, this is a good but loaded thread... what can be termed 'most significant'. Hiphop is American, and Autechre are/were heavily influenced by hiphop. Jamaica has dub/reggae, but who knows how much influence that's had on electronic music. I think Timbaland has been influenced by IDM, but who's reached more listeners in the last 10 years, and spawned more copycats?

It's a tough question, but I think I'll vote US, they 'invented' techno, and everyone calls electronica techno anyway...

You don't think they're influential at all?

Maybe i am inexperienced, well I am as I am more into the metal/punk/rock/alternative styles of music, but just about all of the electronic music that I like is from the UK. Who do you think the influential US artists are?

edit: I just read you sited hip hop, I wasn't really thinking about that, I guess I was just considering the electronic( D&B, chill out and breaks) that I am into.

edit 2: I don't think you are inexperienced, just a bit crazy

It's all relative of course, and most of what I like most is from the UK. And I've actually read the thread title again - it's not most influential at all!

If it was most influential, the US has a huge case, but no, it is the UK for the best I guess...

Cage for sure. i mean, we'd never knew the definition of music without him.
