Tom Jenkinson wishes he was a legitimate musician, alas...

he's not. Ultravisitor is a sad sad attempt. I listened to it all the way through just now and by god its pathetic. Tom just blew it in my books.

lol I do think he has a complex of sorts. But ultravisitor ain't too bad ( although I do prefer his more straight-up DnB-y stuff ( as in, not Ultravisitor or Music is rotted ) )

I'm just going to quote someone from another forum who pretty much sums up my thoughts about the subject pretty well already.

ultravisitor, now given the test of time, is still too wanky artsy and stuff. i think most of the people in the genre want to be musicians and artists and forgot about the factor of nodding heads and, well, the hackneyed idea of "rippin shit up"

seriously, these people have the technicality to make what they want out of sounds and electronic equipment, its just if they'd accept a little bit of convention and use their technicality to make superior versions of things that, GASP, might already exist, the genre would rock.

it doesnt make much sense, prolly flamebait on me, but like, stop trying to reinvent the wheel and just put a shiny fucking rim on it and watch it roll in style. thats what im saying.

I was literally asking myself "what is this shit?" Tom has the musical sense of a dumb-mute. His melodies are so childish. And whats worse is the live footage where the idiots are cheering for his bass wanking. That shit didnt even sound good. Somepeople will cheer for anything.

Tom fell right off the wagon and broke his hip just now. He doesnt need a prosthetic. Nobody give me a prosthetic.

I do find that Ultravisitor is the one I go to least now, but it's not total shit IMO. Too much wank though. If I had his talent, I'd sell out in three seconds and make white america take me serious for once...

Tom's new leg...

I enjoy it.

Tom is an excellent musician and sometimes I don't enjoy his work as it's hit and miss but I can't deny the skill involved in its creation.

I wish you had posted this above statement in the one that is actually talking about "venus", rather instead of Ultravisitor, but hey, it's your opinion

Tom has an inferiority complex, right down to the cover art. You can tell by the intensely crappy solos that he ponderously attempts; he wishes he could actually play, instead of twiddling knobs. But he cant. And his compositions would make a classically trained musician laugh aloud. I can say without a doubt that Ultravisitor was crap beyond belief.
