The originals, the biggies... Just get a compilation with Liquidator, Return of Django, Guns of Navarone, and all the classics... Theyre not hard to find, or not in the UK anyway. Cant go wrong with anything from Trojan records. Or look for these bands;

The Skatalites
Toots and The Maytals
Justin Hinds and the Dominoes
Jimmy Cliff

I have "One Step Beyond, 40 classic ska hits" as the first Jamaican ska CD i bought, on Trojan.

No, im not being sarcastic, its just brilliant music and i want everyone else to appreciate that too. And i believe there was a Jimmy Cliff version of that song although i dont know if his is the original. And now for something completely different!

Ob La Di, Ob La Da - The Heptones
Reggae Beatles covers? Dont mind if i do...

Ska is generally very happy. Although how could you not be happy if you were playing ska.

Yeah, alot of people who are quite into it like Justin Hinds, i havent heard alot of his stuff. If you want stuff more driving then theres Roots reggae which has alot of protest songs, and sounds grimier too. This is a good starter;

Burning Spear - Marcus Garvey
