Damien Rice vs Eliott Smith

Which 'angel voiced' musician do you prefer?

I went for Mr. Smith, not the fresh prince mind :P

we've had this discussion before (though without poll) and I sure like a few of Rice's songs, but he can't compete at all with the magic that is Elliott Smith

Not that Damien Rice is bad, but I doubt he'll get many, if any votes in this poll.

In the end, what we have are these little, great moments. They come and they go. That's as good as it gets. But, still, isn't that great?

I chose Elliott Smith, because his songs are darker, more touching. Damien Rice is a good songwriter too, but he's not one of the most 'original' ones.

edit: I didn't read the previous posts... it's actually what Orpheus said: not as 'special'

there really is no contest. i've been listening to a few of damien rice's songs quite a bit lately, but i never go a day without listening to elliott smith. damien rice is better for the more sweeter side of things (if a little boring at times) but elliott smith is better for everything else.

let's put it this way. if damien rice and elliott smith's corpse got in a fight, the corpse would kick damien rice's ass to china.
