Should I give post-rock another chance?

This is one genre of music that has upto now been constantly disappointing to me. I am sure that I will love songs that slowly build up into huge cresendoes(I love Isis's Carry or Green Carnation's Falling into Darkness) but maybe I have been listening to all the wrong songs.
So can anyone suggest any astounding song that at least loosely falls into that genre that can really kick me into liking the genre? (I'm looking for suggestions of a particular song, rather than an artist)

Well, if you're only looking for a few specific songs, try these, they're some of my favorites (off the top of my head...I'll probably post more later)...

Talk Talk - "Ascension Day"
Mono - "Com(?)"
Slint - "Washer"
Tortoise - "The Taut And Tame"
Mogwai - "Year 2000 Non-Compliant Cardia"

...report back if you hate them!

Post-rock is usually referred off as instrumental repetitive music, sort of playing classical or avant garde compositions as a rock band...

Seba, you'd suggest "Washer"? I've prefer "Don, Aman" and "Good Morning Captain" by a mile...

Others:
A Silver Mt Zion, "13 Angels Standing Guard 'Round the Side of Your Bed"
Explosions In The Sky, "The Moon Is Down"
Godspeed You Black Emperor! "Motherfucker=Redeemer"

Hey, Slint's Spiderland is really nice. Thanks for the suggestions; I've got the tracks except the ones by Mono and Mogwai.

Post Rock is a contemporary experimental rock/indie rock sub-style that's heavily influenced by Space Rock, Classical Minimalism, Kraut-Rock and the Avant-Garde. It's often vocal-less and characterized by its use of textural guitar lines, electronics, unconventional instrumentation, long songs and ambient sensibilities.

Post Rock:

Talk Talk
Slint
Godspeed You Black Emperor!
Mogwai
Tortoise
Gas Der Sol
Tristeza
Experimental Audio Research
Main
Flying Saucer Attack
Explosions In The Sky
Mono
Boxhead Ensemble
The Halifax Pier
Tarentel
Tristeza

Bands like Stereolab and Sonic Youth also share a lot of similarities with the Post-Rock movement, but aren't generally labeled as such..there are hundreds and hundreds of bands who play in this style...but that's all I can think of at the moment...

...that help?
