He was the only one to have no gravestone thread.

Well, there wasn't one in the Jazz section because he isn't a Jazz musician.

Humm, I see, now he's the only one to have two gravestones!

He was not Jazz

Humm, in 1980 he openned the Montreal Jazz Festival. He is considered as Jazz vocal here

Take a look and hear : HTTP : Ray Charles Tribute

Now, what is Jazz and what is not? That's the other thread

Moondog

Of course I don't take it too seriously, I know he was Soul, R&B, Blues and ... Jazz

Brother Ray played so many different genres of music it really doesn't matter if he wasn't really a Jazz musician per say. He wasn't a country musician either but he laid down some excellent country tunes. With someone like Brother Ray genre doesn't matter. All that matters is that he was THE MAN and sadly, he is no longer around to Preach in person.

For the REAL GREATS like Elvin Jones, Steve Lacy, and Brother Ray, you can't have enough threads.

One of the reason’s I don’t hang around here that much is because the Elvin Jones thread in the drummer forum was deleted.
