Live shows you've seen or are looking foward to seeing

I just got back from a Dave Matthews concert in Colombus OH. It was probably the greatest show i have ever seen. Are there any good live acts you've seen this summer or are looking forward to seeing? Right now i'm looking forward to seeing George Clinton and Phish's final tour ever.

I saw Sparta recently, and they were debuting some of their new songs from the new album. I was definately not disappointed.

I was pondering going to Seattle to see some of the bands at Lollapalooza, but I guess that's out now.

so our local blues festival gets a lot of funding so they get all sorts of bands that aren't necessarily blues to perform... last sunday night (july 11) i got to stand outside the fence and watch jaga jazzist play for an hour... for free

i would have totally paid the $25 for the day pass to see them at the end of the night but it was sold out... i still had a great view and the sound was excellent... they're an amazing live band... tightest 10 piecce i've ever seen... then again they're the only 10 piece i've ever seen

the only downside is that they went on last and my province has a noise pollution bylaw that prohibits outdoor shows from going past 11pm... they were supposed to start at 9:30 but didn't get going until a little after 10... i'm pretty sure it was their first time in north america and they seemed quite excited about it and the crowd really dug them too... at a few points there were as many people outside the fence as inside... i REALLY hope they come back (and i find out more than 3 days in advance hehe)

Just found out today that Current 93 are likely to play Glasgow October 16th, which for me will be a more than religious occasion.

After that, my next gig will probably be Blink 182, in December.

This time, I'm NOT joking.

Next up is a Belgian festival, Pukkelpop. I haven't decided whether I'll go the full 3 days or just one...
This is the line-up:

(too bad The Veils, My Morning Jacket and TV on the Radio cancelled)

Keller Williams is coming to Toledo in August, which im really pumped for because no one ever comes to Toledo. Also i think im seeing Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in Detroit come August, but thats still up in the air as of right now.

All my hopes of seeing phish this summer have been shattered, tickets for Coventry are goin for $500+ on Ebay, i cant afford that right now. I guess i'll wait for the reunion tour....

I think the two best shows I've ever seen were Opeth, with Dungeon supporting and The Geek Show (Fantomas, The Melvins and Tomahawk in one show).

Thats right, TWO Mike Patton performances in one night, which also happened to be the same night Robbie Williams was performing, not too far away. Patton made a witty little quip about that too..
"So... are we the only heterosexuals in Sydney ?" which is funny unless your a fanatic anti-homophobe who cant take a joke.

The Opeth show was incredible. Mikael had more power in his voice than I've ever heard before, and Dungeon was like travelling back to the 80's for a power metal show. Acid washed ripped jeans, raised 'fists of power' and plenty of vocals only kanines can properly appreciate.

Both tickets worth every cent.
