Well Dead Can Dance was absolutely incredible. Thw two main band members, after a 9 year layoff, are a the top of their game. I don't know that I've ever actually seen a reunion type show where the band members didn't at least show some signs of aging. If they wanted to, they could just go ahead and launch another career. Brendan Perry's new material was surprisingly strong, and of the older Perry material, he only picked one clunker ("How Fortunate the Man With None", which could have been replaced with virtually any of his songs).

Lisa Gerrard, on the other hand, is from another realm entirely. Her voice could cure the sick. In the vast pool of wonderful vocalists we have on this planet, there is Lisa, and then there is literally every other human being that has ever sang a note. They have been recording all of their shows and selling 1000 copies of each. I'm considering buying the concert I just went to; it is more reasonably priced than I expected.

Today I saw Dave Weckl at Yoshi's, 'twas awesome as expected, and as it always is with Master Weckl. Jeff Tain Watts will be at Yoshi's in early November, but the next big concert on my list is

ORNETTE COLEMAN, who'll be at the Nob Hill Masonic Center for the San Francisco Jazz Festival on November 5th.

YES!!!

On top of this, I was just on the website and found out that

ETTA JAMES will also be playing. I'm gonna figure out if her voice is totally shot or not, and if it isn't...

YES!!!
