CTTE for me, although all three the Holy Trinity of Yes Albums are great.

Recently I've given the only two Yes-albums I own (Yes album & CTTE) another try, and I'm beginning to enjoy them more. They have some pretty strong hooks on the Yes Album, and I've always thought that Siberian Khatru is great.
What still annoys me is that, on the Yes Album, they sometimes repeat the lyrics over and over again. I don't know how many times I've heard "Yesterday a morning came, a smile upon your face...". But it's a minor flaw.

What does "Siberian Kathru" mean, anyway?

I found this just web-surfing around:

"Khatru" is a Yemeni word meaning "as you wish".

As far as a "Siberian Khatru", your guess is as good as mine...

"Green leaves reveal the heart spoken Khatru."

Green leaves reveal the heart spoken "as you wish"? I can't figure it out.

Since when is the lyric content of Yes' music something to be "figured out"?

That either means that poetry doesn't have to be understood or that the lyrics are simply meaningless.

Actually, there are lots of articles on the internet about the possible "meaning" of Yes' classic lyrics. If you do a google search on a phrase like "Siberian Khatru meaning", you'll find all sorts of stuff to read. I have read that "Siberian Khatru" is about some sort of "Christ Consciousness", which is kind of a new-age spiritualist concept.

But on the other hand, it's known that in those days, Jon Anderson was just as interested in the beauty of words for their own sake as he was with meanings or spirituality, if not moreso.

Hmm. I guess we'll have to conclude that he's just doing it for the beauty of the words. I'll go nuts otherwise.
