I think that the music i listen to every day becomes my soundtrack; although maybe other's dont hear it, it's their - i hardly am ever NOT listening to music, whether from my earphones, or my speakers, or at a party, etc. I also listen to music which suits the mood, or a mood i want to get into, which also works a little like a soundtrack.
