Cool Tenor Sax

Hey, I'm wanting to buy a tenor sax, but I've nevr owned one myself before, played a few, but never owned a one. I usually play alto, so I own an alto, but then I borrowed my friends tenor, I don't know what kind it was though... So what brand or should I look for, what type?

If your still looking for a tenor, here is what I suggest.

1) Buy something like an older 70's Buescher on E-bay. You can find them for about $300. Find a local horn tech in your area and have him go over the horn. You'll be in it about $500 total, but it is a good horn to start on and not worry about trashing it. That was my favorite cheap tenor.

2) Buy a used Antigua. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...739095743&rd=1) They are a newer taiwanese horn but the only inexpessive (Under $1000) newer horn I'd buy.

3) Spend a little more money and buy a Cannonball big bell.
