What Equip. do I need?

I have just recently been turned onto electronic music. I have been a musician for about 8 years and I now want to start creating electronic music. What do I need? Thanks!

Which is the best? Also, what about when it comes to sampled sounds and such?

I'm a big fan of Logic. The platinum version comes with an excellent sampler. You'll have to get drum samples from elsewhere, but there are a myriad of either CDs or websites you can source them from.

Logic however went mac only a year or so ago, but I use V5.5 on the PC (the last one they released on PC) and it's been good enough to make my album.

I will warn you it is difficult to get into. It might be wise to play with reason first unless you have a lot of patience.

Protools is good for audio but I don't like it for sequencing and Live is a brilliant live tool, but very much a live tool.

i use Acid 4 for everything that i do..but perhaps that doesn't prove its worth too well...ha anyways, it was good for me because it was user friendly for a fool like myself and allowed me to learn about cutting and splicing material together as well as using filters and such. for beats and the like i am trying to just use sounds from my synth and just cut it up into the pattern i like. but whatever works for you is best!

i'd like to get into Reaktor because i love how it can manipulate sound, but i think i'll take Keef's direction and get into Logic. Keef, i love that track on the n5MD compilation btw....amazing synthwork....
