twisted sister is underrated. Every fan of hard rock or metal should own their greatest hits album, it has some damn fine songs on it besides Were Not Gonna Take It. Just overlook the fact that they looked like whores on speed when playing on stage...

Yeah, I'd go along with that. These days Lemmy claims that Motorhead was really a punk band, and seeing as he is the man who tried and failed to teach Sid Vicious to play the bass I think he's entitled to the benefit of the doubt on that.

I think they are due to play at a couple of festivals this summer, which seems pretty incredible after all these years. Then again, The New York Dolls were playing in London last week, so I guess nothing is too strange in the world of rock.

Lowgold - much more than "the next Coldplay"
Quarashi - their rapping isn't exactly noteworthy but their instrumentals are
Tonic - they have much more to say than most post-grunge bands
Ours - to this day I don't see the similarities with Jeff Buckley besides they're good vocalists
Idlewild - they're f__king awesome; they also display a certain angst most bands emulate

The most underrated band ever: Blind Melon. Hands down. The critics absolutely shit on them at every turn. Their first album is the best album of the entire 90s followed by Jane's Addiction's Ritual de lo Habitual, Smashing Pupmkins' Pisces Iscariot, Radiohead's OK Computer and U2's Achtung Baby
