However, if a child idolised Avril, wouldn't she try and go for the same music that influenced the artist? I'm not sure Avril been influenced by much decent rock music.

I couldn't agree with you more boarder. Avril lavigne once said that she was the next Sid Vacious and then asked wat her favorite guns and roses song was she said and i quote "Who is Guns And Roses?" Like hello! Also she is always saying how she isnt gurly and that she hates wearing skirts well have u not seen the latest pictures of her..she wears and white laced skirt and HOOKER BOOTS!! I think she is just someone that sum low life so called music producer heard at some carnival in nappane and decided oh we could sell her image as for her voice that will take some time! You're right with what you said, but Sid Vicious wasn't in Guns and Roses he was in the Sex Pistols, so it could happen that Avril doesn't know Guns and Roses.
