Unique..... yes
Interesting...... yes
just not that great to say the least.

But like, the drum fills in the beginning of "Temples of Syrinx" and the beginning of the main *loud* part in "Presentation" are just amazing. I can only match the beat on my steering wheel if I use my fingers and not my entire hands as drums.
Neil Peart is quite an amazing drummer. The feel he has for the beat is just mind-boggling

Well, I care to disagree, but I suppose it's just a matter of opinion.

oh dude, 2112, a fucking MASTERPIECE, hands down better than 'the wall' away in my mind as THE prog 'heavymental' masterpiece. well maybe doesnt 'blow it away' but certainly delivers it a ...jarring blow. seriously, passage to bangkok is like the best led zep worship/ripoff ever, probably one of my favorite songs and by far my favorite rush tune.

I had this album on LP and never upgraded it to CD (as many of the songs are on the box set)... I like the album but I do not consider it a masterpiece...

I will say one thing though, as the years go by, Rush's music has really held up well... I find myself actually liking them more and more as the years go by (and I have been listening to them as regularly as any artist, besides Pink Floyd and The Beatles, for almost 30 years)...

Sadly, I've never put anything of that sort between my lips. It's kind of weird considering the music I listen to...
