Hi

I want to extend my music collection by some good songs suitable to the summer time. I thought of something similar to the Beach Boys or Kate Yanai - Summer Dreaming.
Can anyone give me songtitles of beach and summer songs or a hint where to find something like this?

I am not by any means recommending this song, but the first one that came into my head when I saw the title of this thread was "Sex on the Beach".

Not a fan of the song, and like I said I am certainly not recommending it. Maybe my mind is trying to hint at something to me??

Down here in the South there is a whole cult of "Beach Music". Author Pat Conroy used it as the title of one of his novels. Basically, it is early soul songs and songs by white boys trying to sound Black. The Tams ("Be Young,Be Foolish, Be Happy"), Jerry Butler (his album "The IceMan Cometh"is wonderful) Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs( "Stay'), Willie T("Thank You John") , Billy Stuart("Sitting In the Park")., The Platters("With This Ring").the Chairmen of the Board("Give Me Just a Little More Time")..It's hard to define exactly and might be a good topic for any others who know what I'm talking about.

it isn't my type of music either! in fact i fuckin hate it, but it's the first thing that came to mind besides beach boys when you asked for 'beach songs'.... oh god that's tragic, really. i need to get that bloody song out of my head now. i can't stand the venga boys lol.
