I don't think I've heard
anyone mention this group yet, and it just goes to show how criminally overlooked they were and still are. Their brand of "rock" music was perhaps the most self-consciously "English" of any recording group at the time, creating a lush, melodic brand of English folk-rock ((
using traditional instrumentation )) that employed beautiful harmonized vocals and soft acoustic textures with songwriting that can only be called "medieval"...this stuff definately isn't Led Zeppelin by any means, nor is it "soft-rock", but they did manage to create some wonderfully unique '70s records ((
and some in the 1990s with the same 3 members involved )) that are gorgious to listen to, and very creative...for instance, much like fellow "medieval" rockers Gentle Giant, they were known to utilize up to 40 instruments during a single performance ((
although with only three members, each song simply featured different instrumentation ))
...if you're into more melodic or folk-based progressive rock, definately check into their work.
