Electric Sitar

I've been looking at this thing called an Electric Sitar and I was just wondering if anybody knew anything about it(i.e. does it work on a regular amp, does it need special cables?)

I think it's the butt of a joke in "This is spinal tap"

But seriously yeah, I think they work through anything a guitar would. I've heard nothing to make me thing otherwise.

Hey Alistair, I looked some stuff up on the electrics sitar, it sounds really cool (i downloaded some stuff) and it uses regular 1/4'' instrument cable, like your guitar cable and you should get one. Save up!

Alternatively there is a new digitech pedal which makes your guitar sound like a Sitar. Its supposed to be really good.

Anyway, did you get one and is it any good?

No, that pedal suks monkey balls, I tried it out and maybe I would just have to mess with it a bit but it doesn't make your guitar sound shit like a sitar. Alistair, just get a real sitar.

I would only i don't want to invest the amount of money a REAL sitar costs if I just want to fool around on it.

It's an abolishment to music. It's been shaped after a guitar for god knows why. I think this is pretty fucking stupid as it makes it basically a guitar with a few different things. Feel free to point out my ignorance of sitairs now.

I really would love to learn a traditional sitair tho.

You can get a good deal on sitars from a dealer I met online. Not a drug dealer. Sell your Hohner electric and acoustic and your tele and there ya go, a good 600-700 bucks at a pawn shop. BAM new sitar
