newbie fruity loops question

hi, im new here, hopefully im posting in the right place.
i bought cakewalk a while ago and it came with fruity loops express. i have been trying to use it but find it to be somewhat tedious due to the fact i cant seem to get more than one track to be selected at the same time in the playlist. i tried looking in the help but it didnt really say much.. i saw one thing that said to try ctrl-shift while clicking.. but this didnt work. basically every time i click on a space to choose the track for a given 4 measures if there are any other tracks selected they will be unselected. it seems kind of lame that they wouldnt allow this, so im sure its just a user error.. :-)

thanks,

Mike

It's not possible to select more then one pattern. Sucks, I know.
