I just want to note that I edited my post. When I composed it, I couldn't think of the name of Epistle to Derroll, it was just that song about the hippie argueing with a starfish in my mind, and since I didn't have the CD in front of me, I just lazilly checked the track listing at AMG music guide. The title that was listed "Epistle to Dippy" didn't sound right to me, and now that I've double checked, it's not. Someone's idea of a joke I suppose.

Uh, I'm confused... There is a great tune by Donovan called "Epistle to Dippy"... Not sure what your post above means???

In that case I truly am confused. Epistle to Derroll is the name listed on the CD's track list as well as heading the lyrics to the song in the liner notes.
I don't have it at hand, but befor I bought the CD, I had a taped copy off a friend's vynil, and I'm fairly sure I had Derroll written down there too.
Could these be two different songs?
This warrents further investigation.

Heard "White Rabbit" today for the zillionth time, and you know what? It still sounds great... It's probably one of the most played psychedelic themed songs of all-time...

I never cared a lot for "White Rabbit" somehow. It just seems a little too repetitive for me.
Has anyone besides me checked out the new Tears For Fears album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending? I bring this up because they're a well known band and this album has a very heavy psych aspect to it. The title song is an exceptional psychedelic piece. Every time I listen to this album I like it a little more. If you're a psychedelic fan, you really ought to check it out.

does any1 class THE DOORS as psychedelic music??? cause if you do 'Moon light drive' and 'five to one' are greats. If you havn't heard them I urge you to buy the 'The Doors Greatest hits' as they are both amazing and influencial songs

I really wouldn't call cumfortably numb pyschadelic. I think the word you are looking for is lame. Pink Floyd has so many better songs, and so many more psychadelic songs, and so many better psychadelic songs that are actually psychadelic.
