I think it's one of the greatest songs recorded in the 20th century... But, I'm not sure I would qualify it as psychedelic... It actually seems to be in its own non-descript class... Anyway, it's a masterpiece...

Hello, I am new. Is it allright if I post in this thread?

I'll start by going through the bands mentioned in here.

Beatles - It's All Too Much (I'm a Harrihead, my favorite "Lennon" Beatles song is Tommorow Never Knows.)

Jefferson Airplane - Won't You Try/Saturday Afternoon I love the Airplane, there are lot's of runners up for me with them, but Won't You Try is just so quintessential.

Pink Floyd - Apples and Oranges My ex used to play it for me in college, but I still can't find it on CD (or vinyl or any other format)

Syd Barret - Dark Globe

Donovan - Epistle to Derroll I wonder has anyone heard Ween's The Mollusk album? The reason I'm asking is because I strongly believe that For the Little Ones has to be the major influence on that work. Compare the two and you'll see.

Beach Boys - Good Vibrations I do consider the song to qualify as psych. I must say I don't know much Beach Boys. Surf's Up is a good one as well.

Monkees - (yeah that's right, I said The Monkees) Porpoise Song stands out as their strongest, but many songs from that album give it a run.

Let's see, someone mentioned Zappa, well I don't know much Zappa and a lot of it doesn't count as psych so I'll say Who Needs The Peace Corp

Who am I forgetting?

Scorpions - "In Search of Peace of Mind"

The first Scorps album is like a roller-coaster shred guitar acid trip. Parts of the follow-up "Fly to the Rainbow" were the same way. I recommend it to any fan of early psych.

Another one in the debut department would be ALICE COOPER's "Pretties for You"...not for the feint of heart, but I love it!

Cosmic Debris - Zappa

...I'll change my mind by tomorrow though.

PS. Hi everyone, I'm Simon from UK - Listen to a lot of Prog (or what I thought was a lot of Prog until I found this site today). Always looking for something new to listen to. Always after a push in new direction too. Just thought the best way to introduce myself was by listing a few CDs that are in my car (make of these what you will):-

Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull
Minstrel In the Gallery - Jethro Tull
Floating Anarchy - Gong LIVE
Neil Young - Live Rust
Stangetude - Ozric Tentacles
Sprirals in Hyperspace - Ozric Tentacles
Bicycles and Tricycles - Orb
Apostrophe - Zappa
Zute Allures - Zappa
Sound Gallery Vol1
Fish Rising - Steve Hillage
Ill Communication - Beastie Boys
In The Nude - Eat Static

..and a few others I can't think of....

Hope to meet everyone soon, bye for now!!
