that scene in 2001 where the group of people are walking to the monolith on the moon has incrediblly well fitting music. ligeti's atonal singing sounds like the wind

I could have sworn that I heard an Arvo Part piece during Fahrenheit 9/11. Sure enough, the closing credits listed "Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten". Nice.

A funny use of music in Fahrenheit 9/11 was when Dubya's National Guard records were on the screen showing that he 'missed' his physical exam and was grounded from flying. For just a few seconds during the close up, the guitar riff from "Cocaine" rocked the house. Heh ... 'nuff said.
